A strike by pilots forced the cancellation of 137 domestic flights at All Nippon Airways Co (ANA), Japan's second-biggest airline, on Mar. 18, stranding 9,400 people.
Around 15 percent of ANA's flights were stopped by the 24-hour strike, the airline said in a statement, caused by a dispute over pilot training and safety standards.
International flights are operating as usual, a spokesman said.
ANA's bigger rival, Japan Airlines Corp (JAL), had faced a strike threat on Mar. 18 as well, but said in a statement this did not eventuate.
