On Apr. 15, a strike by pilots of All Nippon Airways (ANA) forced cancellations of 149 domestic flights in Japan.

Japan's second largest airline said the strike would hit around 16 percent of the company's domestic services and affect roughly 6,000 people. Another 14 flights were delayed.

No international flights would be impacted and no services would be affected on Apr. 16 and thereafter, ANA said.

About 600 pilots have decided to go on a 24-hour strike, saying the management's responses to their demands on safety and other issues are inadequate.

ANA pilots also went on strike on Mar. 18 and caused cancellations of 137 flights.
