The Kenton County Airport Board has selected a top planning executive at one of the U.S.'s largest engineering firms to be the CEO and executive director of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

John Mok has been director of airport planning with Pasadena, Calif.-based Parsons Transportation Group since 2007.

There, he has worked on projects including the expansion of Washington Dulles International Airport and research for the proposed Long Thanh International Airport in Vietnam.

Mok will succeed Robert Holscher, who died in early October. He will assume his role in June.

The transportation executive's career spans 31 years, and past jobs include director of port control at Cleveland Airport System and vice president of planning for the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
