Subject Concerned: Airlines Flight Delay Airport
A computer glitch in the check-in system caused cancellations of 31 domestic Japan Airlines (JAL) flights departing from Tokyo's Haneda airport on the morning of June 3, JAL officials said.
JAL solved the check-in system problem by using a backup system, but morning flights scheduled up to 8:15 a.m. were cancelled. About 3,600 passengers were affected.
The affected passengers were put on later flights or on flights with other airliners. Further disruption is expected on return flights. International flights were not affected.
The glitch occurred when the system was restarted at around 5:30 a.m. after regular system maintenance early in the morning, the officials said.
