Workers at the Dublin unit of Lufthansa Technik, the maintenance arm of German airline Deutsche Lufthansa, have agreed to a plan that will help save 465 jobs, unions said on June 11.
The Irish government had said on June 10 that it was worried about jobs at the plant because a minority of workers were opposed to an agreement reached earlier with the management.
"What were proving to be the most contentious elements of the agreement have been made more comprehensible and therefore more acceptable to the workforce," the SIPTU and TEEU unions said in a joint statement.
The Technik division, which generates about 15 percent of Lufthansa's revenue, is one of the world's leading companies offering maintenance and overhaul of civil aircraft engines.
