Juneyao Airlines, which started flight operations back in September 2006, is now fast becoming an important private player in China's "still largely state-owned" airline sector, thanks to Shanghai's enormous market tolerance and economic growth in ensuring the survival of privately-owned airlines and helping them to expand continuously.
As Juneyao Airlines cheerfully celebrates its third birthday this month, the Shanghai-based carrier with a current fleet size of 12 Airbus A320 jets told CARNOC.com that it has recorded a total passenger number of over 4 million as well as cargo/mail volume of 40,000 tons between September 2006 and August 2009.
It's also understood by CARNOC.com that Juneyao Airlines has approximately 30 routes in service with ever-growing flights from both Hongqiao and Pudong airports in Shanghai.
