Subject Concerned: Airlines   Cargo

Nippon Yusen KK President Yasumi Kudo says the shipping company and Japan Airlines Corp may delay the planned integration of their air cargo operations from April 1, 2010.

"In-depth negotiations have been somewhat delayed" and the details of the possible deal have yet to be worked out, Kudo told reporters.

The April 1 launch of integration "is not something we must realize at any cost," he added.

In August, struggling JAL said it would negotiate with Nippon Yusen to integrate their air cargo operations as a pillar of its restructuring program.

JAL is expected to spin off its cargo business and integrate it with Nippon Cargo Airlines Co, a Nippon Yusen subsidiary.
