Russia's Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger airliner will be granted flight certification in July, Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Khristenko said Jan. 27.
The Superjet 100, built by plane manufacturer Sukhoi in collaboration with Italy's Finmeccanica, is regarded as a key project within Russia's civil aviation industry.
Some 3.2 billion rubles (US$105.5 million) were added to Sukhoi's charter capital last year as part of state support to complete certification and start serial production of the aircraft, Khristenko said.
Sukhoi, part of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation, plans to produce at least 700 Superjet 100s. The company has about 122 orders for the plane from airlines across Europe and at home.
