Alaska Air Group Inc. has announced a new elite level frequent flyer program for passengers who log 75,000 or more miles on Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air.
Travelers can also qualify for Seattle-based Alaska's MVP Gold 75K elite program if they fly 90,000 miles on the airline's qualifying partners and on Alaska or Horizon, or if they fly 90 flight segments on qualifying partners or on Alaska/Horizon.
Alaska previously had two frequent-flyer elite programs, called MVP Gold and MVP.
Benefits for the new elite program flyers, above the airline's current MVP Gold program, include getting top priority on first-class upgrade lists, the ability to give a friend or relative the airline's MVP status, 50,000 bonus miles for making the new level, dedicated customer care phone lines and discounts for Alaska Airlines' boardroom memberships.
"The new MVP Gold 75K benefits offer an extra layer of recognition above and beyond our MVP Gold level," Alaska said on the program's website.
Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air combined fly about half the traffic annually at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
