Air China Ltd. will likely need about 400 aircraft over the next five to six years, Senior Vice-President He Li said Feb. 3.
He also said the carrier is looking to take in 30 new aircraft in 2010.
"For five or six years, I think our company should need about 400 aircraft," He said on the sidelines of a forum at the Singapore Air Show.
However, he said he doesn't expect to make any sales at the Singapore Air Show this week, which commenced on Feb. 2 and ends on Feb. 7.
He also said the recent threats of Chinese sanctions against plane maker Boeing Co. over its involvement with the supply of arms to Taiwan are a "political" issue.
He said Air China has conducted business with Boeing for more than 30 years and would like to continue this if possible.
