On June 10, Tiger Aviation announced that senior aviation executive, Shelley Roberts, will take up the position of Managing Director of Tiger Airways Australia in mid-July.
Shelley joins Tiger Airways from her role as Asset Director with Macquarie Airports, which included being a board member of Sydney Airport Corporation Limited. Prior to her current role with Macquarie Airports, she worked in senior leadership roles at easyJet, one of Europe's leading low fare airlines.
A chartered accountant by training, Shelley has developed an extensive knowledge of the aviation sector including an in-depth understanding of the Australian domestic market during her three years at Sydney Airport.
Tony Davis CEO of Tiger Aviation said "Shelley Roberts brings a wealth of commercial and aviation experience to the role of Managing Director. In her new position with Tiger Airways she will lead our Australian operation in its next stage of growth including the establishment of more bases, further development of our network and the expansion of the fleet with the addition of further A320 and A319 aircraft."
The current Managing Director of Tiger Airways Australia, Chris Ward, has been appointed as the founding Managing Director of Incheon Tiger Airways, the new airline in the Tiger Aviation group of companies, to be based in South Korea.
Tony Davis said "Chris has shown in both Australia and Singapore a clear ability to successfully navigate the challenges of bringing an airline from the planning stages to full operational services. He is the perfect fit for the role of developing Incheon Tiger Airways into a successful addition to the aviation markets of North East Asia."
Chris Ward added "I am particularly excited about further expanding Tiger Airways as a pan Asia-Pacific company. Very soon I look forward to being one of the first Tiger Airways passengers to be flying across the region with flights from Incheon to Hobart."
