Subject Concerned:

On June 27, Terminal 1 (T1) of Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) reopened at 6:00, after more than a month of renovations.

In order to better accommodate passengers, the airport has begun providing free shuttle bus services between Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 3 (T3).

The free shuttle bus services are offered every seven minutes and take 15 minutes for passengers to travel from T1 to T3.

Domestic flights operated by four airline units of the Hainan Air Group, including Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air, Deer Air and Grand China Express, have transferred operations to T1.

On June 27, over 400 posters displaying transfer information were seen posted at prominent places in the airport's three terminals, T1, T2, and T3, and related brochures with additional details were also available for passengers.

Thanks to the renovation, self-service check-in counters, information counters and baggage service counters in T1 have undergone some position adjustments, a few stores have been shut down and more seats have been installed.

Moreover, a group of armed patrol officers showed up in the terminals on June 26, ready to deal with emergencies. They will work in this capacity until the conclusion of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

According to the person in charge of the airport, the 7,900 square meter newly-renovated T1 has 13 aerobridges and will handle up to 10 million passengers per year, providing a more comfortable space for travelers.

For the convenience of passengers transferring between the three terminals, 24-hour shuttle bus services are offered for free in T1 with bus stop outside Gates 3-5 on the 1st floor.
