Tiger Airways scores up another trophy for its mantle piece with the TravelWeekly (Asia) Industry Awards as Best Budget Airline. The TravelWeekly (Asia) Industry Awards recognize the best in the industry with more than 2.2 million votes received from Asia-Pacific, Europe and internationally. Tiger Airways was voters' top choice as the Best Budget Airline amongst other airlines nominated by a panel of judges. Tiger Airways was presented the award at an awards ceremony at the Marriot Hotel, Singapore, on July 17.
Tiger Airways Singapore Managing Director Rosalynn Tay said, "Tiger Airways is delighted to be voted by its customers as the Best Budget Carrier in the TravelWeekly (Asia) Industry Awards 2008. This award is recognition of Tiger Airways' accomplishments as the number one low fare airline in the region over the past four years. Tiger Airways is proud to be the preferred airline for low low fares and reliable service."
Tay added, "Even as the airline industry faces challenges ahead, Tiger Airways has aggressive expansion plans and will continue to expand with more low fare flights and to more destinations. Tiger Airways now flies to over 9 countries and 27 cities across the Asia-Pacific region."
This follows Tiger Airways recent awards won at the Changi Airline Awards in June 2008. Tiger's rankings in the Changi Airline Awards Top 5 Airlines by Year-on-Year Growth for two consecutive years and Top 10 Airlines by Passenger Carriage for three consecutive years are further proof that Tiger Airways is the preferred choice of low fare travel. The awards are testament to the success of Tiger Airways' true low cost model and its dominance in the low fares arena.
