Chinese Air Hostesses (Chinese name: Zhongguo Kongjie), a film on life of the country's flight attendants, began production last week in Beijing.
The film will depict the development of China's Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC), since its founding in 1949, by focusing on the intertwined lives of a group of flight attendants.
Young female director Li Yu, whose Lost in Beijing was nominated for the Golden Bear award at 2007's Berlinale, is directing the film. Noted actor Li Youbin will make a cameo appearance.
The film, now in the casting stage, is expected to be completed by July 2009 - in time for the aviation administration's 60th anniversary.
