China: Man Detained After "Daylight Airborne Robbery"

A male passenger surnamed Liu, who stole a total amount of 100,000 yuan (US$14,490) on Jun. 25 on a domestic flight, was detained by police upon his arrival at Wuhan's Tianhe airport in China's Hubei province.

A Wuhan businessman surnamed Li who was traveling with a large sum of cash reported his money stolen to aircrew before the plane landed.

Police boarded the plane upon its arrival in Wuhan.

After making a few enquiries among other passengers, Liu was detained.

Police later found the stolen cash under the last row of seats in the cabin.
