On July 18, Mr Yang Guoqing, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), held a meeting with Ms Eva Cheng, Secretary for Transport and Housing of Hong Kong SAR Government, in Beijing. They exchanged views on how to jointly enhance the civil aviation developments in both Mainland and Hong Kong.
According to information gathered by CARNOC.com, Ms Eva Cheng left Hong Kong on July 17 to begin a two-day visit to Beijing to exchange views with Mainland officials on cross-boundary transport infrastructure co-operation and air services arrangements.
Sources told CARNOC.com that this is Ms Cheng's second visit to Beijing since she took up the post of the SAR's Secretary for Transport and Housing in 2007. She visited the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office of the State Council as well as the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
Additionally, it's understood by CARNOC.com that the Director of Highways, Mr Wai Chi-sing, and the Deputy Secretary for Transport and Housing (Transport), Mr Esmond Lee, accompanied Ms Cheng to Beijing on this trip.
