Passengers stranded at the airport in the capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province scuffled with security staff on July 29 after their demands for information on new flights were not met.

According to a Xinhua reporter at the airport, on July 28, three China Southern Airlines (CSA) flights -- two to Guiyang, one to Changsha -- were delayed in the evening by bad weather at their destinations, stranding more than 170 passengers.

However, passengers claimed that CSA didn't provide hotels or meals for them. CSA was not immediately available for comment.

Starting at 8 a.m. on July 29, the passengers started to gather at the terminal, demanding that CSA to apologize and provide the exact times for the rescheduled flights.

It appears that only one CSA staff member was at the airport to help the passengers and was unable to satisfy their demands.
