Subject Concerned: Airlines   Flight Delay   Airport

Thousands of people were evacuated from Brisbane Airport's Qantas Domestic Terminal in the Australian state of Queensland.

The alarm was raised just after 2 o'clock this afternoon.

Qantas discovered three of its customers had walked into a secure area without being screened.

Everyone inside the Qantas domestic terminal then had to be re-screened - including passengers, shop workers and pilots.

ABC journalist Sarah Clark was there, and says there were massive queues to get back in.

"So I'd say the whole airport would have been surrounded by passengers."

A Qantas spokeswoman says eight flights were delayed, each by around forty minutes.

Australia's other domestic carrier, Virgin Blue, says none of their flights were affected.
