Subject Concerned: Airlines Plane Crash
Seven people died on Nov. 16 in a plane crash on an island off the southern coast of British Columbia, according to reports.
An eighth person aboard the plane survived the accident that happened on Thormanby Island north of Vancouver, according to Pacific Coastal Airlines, the plane's owner.
The male survivor walked away from the crash and was found by the Canadian Coast Guard on a beach at the island, said Joint Rescue Coordination Center officials.
The Grumman Goose aircraft, on its way from Vancouver to a hydroelectric project on the island, was reported missing by the airline on the morning of Nov. 16. There were no clues as to the cause of the crash.
British Columbia-based Pacific Coastal is a small airline that operates regional and charter flights.
Five people were killed in August when a Pacific Coastal plane crashed into rugged terrain on nearby Vancouver Island.
